Cynthia is Resilience

by Lara McCormick,  San Francisco based artist

“I was particularly inspired by a quote from Cynthia Carey-Grant and selected a portion to highlight. I created a profile illustration of Cynthia based on the AIDS 2020 videos she was featured in, and used this as the backdrop for her quote, which I lettered by hand to feel human and inviting. The word ‘heroic’ is emphasized, the character trait for those who have been affected by AIDS.” – Lara McCormick.
