Affiliated Independent Events
Have your event promoted at AIDS 2020!

Are you organizing an event in the Bay Area related to the 23rd International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2020)? Would you like to increase your event’s visibility? Would you like to expand the promotion of your event at no extra cost? If so, submit your event to be an official AIDS 2020 Affiliated Independent Event.

We encourage you to be innovative when developing your event to raise awareness or address HIV-related issues in new and original ways. Events can take many different forms from performances to workshops, meetings, marches or even galas. Get creative with your ideas!

There is no cost involved in applying for affiliated status and all approved events will be published on the conference website, as well as promoted on AIDS 2020 social media channels.

Affiliated Independent Event submissions will be open from 3 February to 30 June 2020.

SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN

SUBMIT AN AFFILIATED INDEPENDENT EVENT

Affiliated Independent Event submissions will be open from 3 February to 30 June 2020

All AIDS 2020 Affiliated Independent Events must:

Reflect and support the Conference theme and objectives and Principles and values of conference participation
Take place between 1 May and 31 July 2020 (excluding the dates of the conference as specified below)
Take place outside AIDS 2020 venues, the Moscone Center and the Oakland Convention Center
Not be called a pre-conference (this terminology is reserved for official pre-conferences contracted for AIDS 2020) in Moscone Center and Oakland Convention Center.
Take place outside the official conference programme hours, which are:
- Monday, 6 July 2020: 08:00 – 21:00
- Tuesday, 7 July – Thursday, 9 July 2020: 07:30 – 19:30
- Friday, 10 July 2020: 07:30 – 16:30

Please note that the AIDS 2020 organizers reserve the right to approve or reject any Affiliated Independent Event submission and are not responsible for the organization or final content of any such events. The content and management of the event is the sole responsibility of the event organizers.
