AIDS 2020 is committed to accommodating the needs of individuals with disabilities by providing the following services:

  • Accessibility information desk
  • Free registration for personal assistance (upon request and approval of required documentation)
  • Wheelchairs (upon request)
  • Sign language (upon request)
  • Live translation of speech into text (CART, or real-time captioning) at selected sessions
  • Accessible Pocket Programme (upon request)
  • Stage lift/ramp for speakers (upon request)

Conference accessibility

Accessibility information desk

An accessibility information desk will be available at both venues to register and provide assistance to delegates with disabilities. The desks will be located in the registration areas and will be staffed during the official registration opening hours.

Personal assistance (upon request and approval of required documentation)

Conference delegates with specific accessibility needs who are interested in bringing their own assistant with them (such as a sign language interpreter) are requested to contact us at [email protected].

Wheelchairs (upon request)

Delegates will be able to borrow manual wheelchairs at the conference. Requests must be sent in advance to [email protected]. Wheelchair provision is free of charge, although a deposit as guarantee will be requested onsite.

Sign language interpretation

Conference delegates who require sign language interpretation are requested to contact us at [email protected].

Real-time captioning (CART typology)

Real-time captioning (CART typology) will be provided for selected key sessions.

Accessible Pocket Programme (upon request)

Options for blind and visually impaired delegates are currently being explored. Contact us at [email protected] for further information.

Stage lift/ramp (upon request)

A stage lift/ramp will be available in both venues for the duration of the conference. Speakers requiring a stage lift/ramp are requested to contact [email protected] by 12 June 2020.
