Local Charitable Giving Programme

The Local Charitable Giving Programme financially supports a local project each year in the city that is hosting the International AIDS Conference and the IAS Conference on HIV Science.

Delegates are given the option to contribute to the programme through the registration process. They can choose the amount they wish to donate by ticking a box on the registration form (US$5, $15, $25 or $50). The funds collected are transferred to the organization or project after the conference.

Native American Health Center has been selected for the AIDS 2020 Local Charitable Giving Programme

The mission of the Native American Health Center (NAHC) is to provide comprehensive services to improve the health and well-being of American Indians, Alaska Natives and residents of surrounding communities, with respect for cultural and linguistic differences.

The donations collected during AIDS 2020 will be allocated to the transitional age youth HIV prevention programme (for ages 12-17 years) in which staff partner with local school districts to provide classes on health education, safe dating, substance abuse prevention and other HIV prevention-related issues.

The NAHC also provides a case management-focused outreach, education, rapid testing and linkage to care programme that targets men who have sex with men and assists people in the community who are living with HIV or vulnerable to acquiring HIV in accessing dental, medical, behavioural health and social and/or cultural services.

By contributing to the AIDS 2020 Local Charitable Giving Programme, you are helping the Native American Health Center achieve its goal of extending prevention to treatment.
